Neural stem cells turn into two general categories of brain cells: neurons and glia.
Glial cells can be divided into two other cell types: oligodendrocytes and astrocytes.

Neural stem cells differentiate into 3 different cell types
- Neurons, oligodendrocytes, astrocytes

Neurons are responsible for processing and transmitting information throughout the body via electrical and chemical signals.

Oligodendrocytes provide support and insulation to neurons in the central nervous system.

Astrocytes provide nutrients to nervous tissue and maintain the balance of ions in the brain.
