Neural stem cells are developed in a region of the brain called the subventricular zone

The subventricular zone is a paired brain structure placed between the walls of the lateral ventricles in the brain.

​Following the formation of neural stem cells in the subventricular zone, the cells disperse to other areas of the brain, where they are needed.

Neural stem cells are located in the brain and some parts of the spinal chord.
